Layered and Lived-In: Why Every Room Needs Texture

When I'm designing a space, I always think about how it feels just as much as how it looks.

This corner is a perfect little reminder of why texture matters.

Here, it’s not just about one piece — it’s about the way everything plays together: the deep velvet chair you can sink into, the chunky wool pillow, the cozy Hermes throw, the cool marble side table, the warm wood coffee table, the breezy linen shades letting in that morning light.

Cozy and elegant living space featuring a plush armchair draped with a stylish blanket. Sunlight filters through sheer curtains, illuminating a hanging plant and modern decor, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.

Velvet. Wool. Stone. Wood. Linen.

Each material brings something different — a little softness, a little structure, a little shine. Layered together, they create a room that feels natural, welcoming, and lived-in without ever looking overdone.

Design isn’t about filling a room with stuff. It’s about mixing textures and tones in a way that makes you want to sit down, stay awhile, and live in it.

Because a home should never feel one-note. It should feel layered, soulful, and just a little bit undone — in the best possible way.

Let's create your curated space today.
